Dwight Lynn Brown, 81, of Old Fort, Tennessee, passed away on July 22, 2026.

Born on April 12, 1945, Dwight was the son of the late Burch Ralph Brown and Mae Ester Brown. He lived a life defined by hard work, dedication to his family, and a willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

On April 17, 1965, Dwight married the love of his life, Caroline Jean Brown. Together they built a loving home and shared more than 61 years of marriage. They were blessed with two sons, Mark Anthony Brown (born August 30, 1966) and Marlen Gene Brown (born December 4, 1976).

Dwight was a proud grandfather to Amanda Price, Ethan Brown, Joshua Brown, and Sarah Brown. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Kinley Price, Karson Price, Dawson Brown, and Aurora Brown, each of whom brought him great joy. He also leaves behind two faithful four-legged companions, Buddy and Molly, who were cherished members of the family.

A lifelong resident of the Old Fort community, Dwight began his career with Hardwick Stove Company in 1963. Through more than four decades of dedicated service, he earned the respect of his coworkers and retired in 2005 as a Production Planner. His strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to excellence were evident throughout his career.

A man of Baptist faith, Dwight lived with honesty, humility, and quiet strength. He enjoyed classic cars, collecting firearms, woodworking, and gardening. Whether he was working with his hands in the shop or tending to his garden, he took pride in doing things well.

Those who knew Dwight will remember his sharp wit, warm sense of humor, and his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He never knew a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome. His kindness, generosity, and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

To his family, Dwight was much more than a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a steady source of love and support. No matter the challenge, he was always in his family's corner. Whenever something around the house needed fixing or a problem seemed impossible to solve, Dwight somehow always knew the answer. His wisdom, practical knowledge, and willingness to help will be deeply missed.

Although our hearts are heavy with his passing, we rejoice in the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. Dwight will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful friend, and hardworking man whose love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home, located on Georgetown Road in Cleveland, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Cumberland Shed Cemetery in Old Fort, Tennessee.

Dad, thank you for every lesson you taught us-not just with your words, but by the way you lived. Thank you for showing us what it means to work hard, keep your word, and love your family without hesitation. You were the one we called when something broke because we knew you'd know how to fix it. More importantly, you were the one we leaned on when life became difficult because we knew you would always be in our corner.

Your quick wit, quiet strength, and unwavering love shaped our lives in countless ways. We will miss hearing your voice, your stories, and your laugh, but we will carry your example with us every day. We find comfort in knowing that one day, through our faith in Christ, we will see you again.

Until then, we love you, we miss you, and we will never forget you.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
