Dorothy Tackett, age 92, of Etowah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, December 14, 2025. She was born on November 4, 1933, in West Virginia to the late Grace and Tate Mullins.
Dorothy was a hardworking and talented woman. She obtained her cosmetology license and worked as a cosmetologist for many years. Later, she and her husband, Robert, owned and operated a residential electrical business, where Dorothy assisted him faithfully and took pride in their work together.
Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Dorothy was always willing to help anyone in need. Her family remembers her as loyal, encouraging, and deeply devoted to those she loved. She had a passion for crafts and was highly artistic, finding joy in creating with her hands. Dorothy was a faithful member of Manilla Chapel Baptist Church in Englewood, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Samson Tackett; her son, Larry Robert Tackett; her granddaughter, Amanda Perez; and her sister, Lucy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Lynda (Robert) Brimer, Beverly (Dan) Woodham, and Debra (Jesse) Perez; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family members and her cherished church family.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Athens, Tennessee, with Minister Greg Watson officiating.
