Doris Ard

Doris Ard, 76, a resident of Cleveland, TN, passed peacefully at her home in Cleveland, TN with family by her side. She was born December 14, 1939 in Latta, SC to Benjamin and Lizzie C Rouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister Barbara Jean. She loved working for the Lord and was certified as a licensed teacher for The Church of God. She traveled to many countries and states with her husband during their ministry. After her stroke in 1994, she was completely paralyzed on her left side. She re-learned to walk, read, write and use the computer using her right hand, enabling her to write and publish two books. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband Bishop Herman D. Ard of Cleveland, TN, daughter Teresa Ard-Walling and grandson Billy Daniel Walling both of Gallatin, TN, and loyal friend and caregiver Connie Wilson of Cleveland, Tn. Family will receive visitors Monday, May 16 starting at 6:00pm until 9:00pm at The Church of God, Zion Hill, Tillie Rd, Cleveland, Tn. A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Tuesday at the church at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made for the Canadian Mission work in her name to The Church of God.
