Donnie Edward Tuttle, age 67, of Sweetwater, went into the arms of Jesus on February 19, 2026, with his wife of 43 years, Rita Tuttle, holding his hand.

Donnie was a loving husband, amazing father, and the world's best Papaw. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved to garden, harvest, can, and build. He never hesitated to help when asked and often didn't have to be asked. His grandbabies had him wrapped around their fingers and he was known to cross county lines when they called and asked for something. Words cannot capture the joy he brought into this world. He made a friend of everyone he met. He is loved tremendously and will be greatly missed.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved son, Travis Tuttle; parents, Arvlee and Mildred Tuttle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Shirley Plemons; brothers: Bill, Larry, and Alvis Tuttle; and his sister, Linda King.

He lives on through the memories of his wife, Rita Tuttle; his sons and daughter-in-law, Cody Tuttle and Casey and Stephanie Tuttle; his bonus children, Felecia and Justin Vincil, Amanda and Calvin Smith, and Kelly Fannin; and his grandchildren, Taylin Tuttle, Parker Vincil, Prudence Vincil, Star Coleman, Wesley Coleman, Shane Tuttle, Kailee Cesare, Bryson Tuttle, Zack O'Daniel, Zoey Brown, Zayden Smith, Zayla Smith, and Riley Tuttle.

His memory will also be cherished by his brothers and sisters in-law, Ronnie and Teresa Tuttle, David and Glenda Tuttle, and Bobby Tuttle; his sisters and brother in-law, Elizabeth Goodman, Judy and Tom Norris and Caroline and Jimmy Maddox; his brothers -in law and sister-in-law, Jason Plemons, Jim Plemons, and Jeff and Barbara Plemons; his brother-in-law, Tony King; and his sisters-in law, Barbara Tuttle and Vinia Moore; special friend and caregiver, Audra Morton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive guests at the Chapel of Companion Funeral Home in Athens, TN on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service starting at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Gerald Lynn. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Christianburg Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweetwater, TN, officiated by Matt Johnson. Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Tuttle, Justin Tuttle, Jeff Tuttle, Danny Tuttle, Jeffery Dotson, Josh Moser, and Jason Melton.
