Dixie Diane Elliott Hood, 75, of Cleveland, TN, formerly of Forsyth, GA, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Jacob's Tent Fellowship, 930 25th St NW, Cleveland, TN 37311, with the family greeting friends following the service.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Rd, Macon, GA 31216.

Mrs. Hood was born on June 30, 1950, in Jackson, GA, to Harold Elliott and Mary Welch Elliott. She graduated from the Macon Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1970 and went on to have a long and dedicated career caring for patients in hospitals throughout the Macon area.

She and her husband were longtime members of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, where they were actively involved for many years. After retiring to the mountains of Tennessee, she attended Jacob's Tent Fellowship in Cleveland. Throughout her life, she remained committed to her church communities, serving as a Sunday School teacher, supporting youth programs, and participating in the choir.

Dixie valued her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother, and took pride in her family. She will be remembered for her steady presence, her commitment to those she cared for, and the life she built alongside her loved ones.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Elliott and Mary Welch Elliott, and her sister, Elaine White.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James "Mike" Hood; her children, Jonathan Hood (Marilyn King), Brian Hood (Amanda), and Marshall Hood (Nichole); her grandchildren, Lilith Vanest-Hood, Owen Hood, Weston Hood (Sydney Walker), Miles Hood, Alice Hood, Madisyn Hood, and Dylan Hood; her siblings, David Elliott (Cindy), Wendy Clarke (David), and MaryAnn Strohbeck (Brian); her brother-in-law, Keith White; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She will be remembered warmly by those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Jacob's Tent Fellowship, 930 25th St NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
