Derik Jason Montgomery

Derik Jason Montgomery passed away early Monday morning, October 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife. Jason was a dedicated and loving husband, father and friend. He was a master guitarist who played heavy metal classical and country music. He passed away laughing and telling jokes with his wife Valerie. Jason had a brief battle with cancer.

Jason was born June 6, 1973, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Son of the late Ray Montgomery and Mary Montgomery.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by two sons, Dalton Hudgins and Blaze Montgomery; daughter Anastazia Montgomery; sister Deeana Montgomery Yates.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory Wife, Valerie; Mother, Mary; two brothers, James and Steven; Father & Mother-n-Law, Ralph and Mary Hudgins; Sister-in-law, Stephanie Hamby and a host of extended family and dear friends.

The family requests that contributions in Jason's honor be made to the Cancer Society.
