Dennis Saunders

Dennis Saunders, Jr., 84 of Chattanooga, passed away on July 19. He was born on November 30, 1941. He retired from the City of Chattanooga Streets and Sewer Department after 55 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Saunders; parents, Dennis and Alice Saunders; sister, Helene Lee; and son, Kevin Richards.

He is survived by his siblings, Mary Robinson of Chattanooga, Wanda Stone of Chattanooga, Don Saunders (Deborah) of Chattanooga, Alake Subira of Oregon; grandson, Nigel Richards; daughter-in-law, Ramona McCoy; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and beloved friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery located at 1200 Bailey Avenue in Chattanooga on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:00AM.
