Delwyn Brett Long

Delwyn Brett Long, 61, a resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife and favorite dog, Puff, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, after a battle with cancer.

He was a native of Cleveland, TN, born on October 28, 1964. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School, where he played the trumpet in the marching band. He grew up going to church with his family at North Cleveland Church of God, where he sang in the Junior and Teen Choirs. He played youth basketball and baseball alongside his brothers growing up. He was a truck driver for several companies for the last 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carmen Long; his parents, Don and Gayle Long; his maternal grandparents, A.M. and Lois Phillips; his paternal grandparents, Rue and Minnie Long; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Segar Long; his daughter, Brittni (Javier) Rodriguez; his stepsons, Danny Palmer, Jason (Donna) Palmer, David Palmer, and Jonathan Palmer; his grandchildren, Alis, Alexia and Eliana Rodriguez; his step-grandchildren, Krista, Chase, Carter, Gracy, Daemon, Christiana, and David Jr. Palmer; his brothers, DeLane (Leigh Ann) Long and Dacen (Stacy) Long; his sister, Danitra (Nathan) Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the Ridge Sanctuary of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311, with the celebration of life being held immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Guinn Green will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Palmer, DeLane Long, Dacen Long, Nathan Wallace, Lucas Tilley and Eli Wallace.

A private interment for the family will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery following the celebration of life.
