Dee Murray

Franklin Dee Murray, age 69, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2026.

Dee was a lifelong resident of Cleveland and was a man who believed in working hard and taking care of the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, father, and papaw who treasured spending time with his family. Dee enjoyed cheering on the Tennessee Vols, grilling and cooking, and coaching youth sports. His greatest joy, however, was the time he spent with his family and the memories they made together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.D. Murray and Geneva Murray; and his beloved grandson, Isaac Rothfolk.

Dee leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Teresa Murray; his beloved brother, Rickey (Tonya) Murray; and his sister, Pam Murray. He is also survived by his son, Dale Murray; daughters, Nikki Murray, LynnDee (Andrew) Rothfolk, and Kristen Murray; six grandchildren, Jazlyn Murray, Addison Rountree, Angely Rothfolk, Gabe Rothfolk, Taytum Rothfolk, and Gunner Rothfolk; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws who will cherish his memory.

Dee will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, hard work, and dedication to his family will live on through the many lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Foundation House Ministries.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Companion Funeral and Cremation Service, located at 2415 Georgetown Rd. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A service will follow at 5:00 p.m., with Adam Jones officiating.
