David Ray Weir, 62, of Athens passed away on March 6, 2026.

David was born on March 22, 1963 to Billie Weir and Barbara Peters Hawkins. He was a mechanic and worked at Ritchie Power Sports for many years. David enjoyed hunting in his pastime.

Preceded in death by father, Billie Weir; sister, Cherie Weir Edmonson; grandparents, Lloyd and Annabelle Weir and Floyd and Emma Peters.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 17 years, Sheila Weir; son, David Heath Weir; daughters, Ruth Ann Duggan and Stephanie McMinn; mother, Barbara Peters Hawkins; brother, Billy Weir; and seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other loved family and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 2:00pm at Piney Grove Cemetery in Athens, TN.
