David Ray Millsaps, age 81, of McMinn County, Tennessee, passed into the arms of the Lord on August 3, 2025. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1943, in McMinn County, David was the beloved son of the late Sam and Lou Millsaps.
A lifelong resident of the area, David was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Athens. He worked for over three decades as a milk receiver at Mayfield Dairy Farms, where he was known for his hard work and dependability. He also served his community as a constable for a time and later as a private process server, always taking pride in doing his job with integrity.
Above all, David was a man who deeply loved his family. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his humble spirit, and the love he freely gave to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lou Millsaps; and his sisters, Jeanette Rowland and Eva Hicks.
David is survived by his son, Randell (Samantha) Millsaps; grandchildren, Kayla (Jesse) Calhoun, Alex Forsyth, and Rowdy Millsaps; siblings, Jerry (Helen) Millsaps, Alvin (Debbie) Millsaps, Ross (Judith) Millsaps, and Debbie (Bronnie) Elsie. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The Millsaps family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Athens for the compassion and care they provided to David.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Companion Funeral Home of Athens, TN from 4-6pm followed by a service at 6 PM, officiated by Pastor William "Skip"White. David's wishes were to be cremated following his service.
