David Jerome Harris Jr.

On April 2, 2026, our beloved father David Jerome "Jerry" Harris Jr. went to be with the Lord. He was born on November 17, 1940. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, raised in Apison, TN, and most recently resided in Attalla, Alabama. He was a graduate of Ooltewah High School. Jerry was of the Baptist faith. His kindness, optimism, and unwavering patience touched everyone who knew him. He was a man with a true heart of gold, always putting others before himself, offering a helping hand, and sharing words of encouragement. His gentle spirit and steady presence brought comfort to his family. As a father, he was devoted, loving, and endlessly patient. He will be deeply missed and remembered forever.

Jerry dedicated 35 years of his career to Exxon Oil, yet at his core; he was a farmer and was deeply connected to the land and the open fields around him. He found his greatest peace and purpose on his "John Deer" tractor cutting and bailing hay.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, David J.Harris Sr, Kathleen B.Harris and brother Brian Harris. Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Audrey Harris of Attalla,Alabama. ; children Michael (Holly) Harris, Christie (Andy) Smith, grandchildren; Alex Smith, Kennedy Smith, Gavin Harris, Olivia Harris.

Arrangements are entrusted to Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN. A private burial service will be held Monday, April 6th.
