David Jackson Gooch

David Jackson Gooch, 73, of Georgetown, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026.

David was born October 27, 1952 in Berwyn, Illinois, to Arsenio Jackson (Jack) and Jacqueline (née Knasko) Gooch, and was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

David graduated from Broadview Academy in La Fox, Illinois in 1971 and received his Associate's Degree from Valencia College in Orlando, Florida in 1973.

Professionally, David was a builder with a passion for construction and design. He built multiple homes, including his family home at Circle G and supervised the completion of a number of nursing homes throughout the United States while employed at Lifecare Centers of America.

David also felt strongly about land preservation, and with Kathy placed their Deerstone Farm in the Land Trust for Tennessee.

David loved to travel with Kathy, their sons, and family friends, especially to our National Parks. He also enjoyed motorcycle trips with his brothers, jet skiing, snow skiing, and boating.

David was a faithful churchgoer at Cleveland Fellowship SDA. Previously, he attended and oversaw the remodeling of Bowman Hills SDA's church, school, and community service building.

David is survived by his wife Kathy (née Preston) of 52 years, their two sons, Mark Gooch and Scott (June) Gooch, and five grandchildren, Samantha Gooch, Madison Gooch, Mason Gooch, Meghan Gooch, and Michael Gooch, as well as his mother, Jacqueline, and his brothers Stephen (Cynthia) Gooch, Lawrence (Janelle) Gooch, and Terrence Gooch. David was preceded in death by his father, Jack Gooch.
