David Farris

David Farris, 72, of Birchwood, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at his home. He was born to the late Ruth and Ed Farris on July 15, 1954 in Cleveland, Tennessee.

David worked as a roofer and autobody mechanic for many years. He was very proud of what he could achieve by making a motor hum and car/truck look good. He loved to watch Diane sing and play guitar with family, and enjoyed country music, old westerns, Saturday cartoons, and sweet tea. He took pride in mowing his yard and keeping it looking nice.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his spouse, Diane Farris, siblings, Charles Ferris. Jerry Ferris, Jackie Stokes, Ann Guinn, Judy Lawhorn, Debbie Willis, Ginger Roark, step-daughter, Sheila Shahan, and daughter, Amy Farris.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Punkin) Farris, DJ (Jamie) Farris, Candie Hickey, step-daughter, Sherri Hogan, grandchildren, Dylan (Brooklyn) Gann, Devan (Makala) Gann, David (Ashley) Keith Farris III, Reatha Shahan, Keith Shahan, Steven Hogan, Samantha Harris, Averie Hickey, great-grandchildren, Malibu Farris (babygirl), David Farris IV (Spud), Deklan Farris, Mason Gann, Michael Floyd, Raehanon Floyd, Ryker Shahan, Ryley Shahan, Briana Love, Silas Harris, Meredith Harris, and sisters, Rickie Stanley, and Penny Hiefnar. He is also survived by his best friend, Frankie Friddell, and his very special pet and furry friend, ManCat.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Original Chapel. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at McInturff Cemetery.
