David Brent Boatwright

David Brent Boatwright, 73, passed away December 6, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Born April 21, 1942 to the late D.C. Boatwright and Elsie Boatwright, David has been a resident of Cleveland since 1960 and was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. He received a Master’s in Education with emphasis in mathematics, and was a professor of Computer Information Systems at Cleveland State. David enjoyed tennis, golf, snow skiing, playing table tennis, and Tennessee Football.
Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by his three brothers, Donald, Garold and Calvin Boatwright; and one sister, Joyce Dawn Swilley.
David is survived by his sweetheart of 38 years Sandy Tinker Boatwright; two sons, Skyler Boatwright of Cleveland, TN and D. Brent Boatwright of Cartersville, GA; one daughter Valerie Boatwright Ford (Ricky) of Cartersville, GA; three grandchildren, Colton, Carson and Callaway Ford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held December 12, 2015 at St. Therese Catholic Church from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, followed by a Memorial Service. Private interment will be at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers are Terry Pace, Mickey Webb, Jerry McClain, Rick Tinker, Dennis Jordan, Harry Swilley, Jim Forester and Bud Wisseman.
In lieu of flowers denotations may be made on behalf of David to Walker Valley H.S. Mustang Band.
