David Bell

David Lamar Bell, age 77, passed away on August 26, 2025, at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tennessee.

David was born on March 25, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to parents Garnet and Nora Bell.

A private and thoughtful gentleman, David was known for his captivating storytelling. If you knew him, you likely found yourself drawn into one of his many rich and engaging tales.

He proudly served in the United States Navy for four years, after which he pursued a wide range of interests and careers. David had a deep love for saltwater sailing and motorcycles, passions that brought him much joy throughout his life. In his later years, he retired to Etowah, Tennessee, where he enjoyed a quieter pace of life.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Garnet and Nora Bell.

He is survived by his sisters, Lynn Bell and Angela Hendricks, as well as his devoted best friend and caretaker, Sherry Bourque. Sherry and David shared many cherished moments together, especially enjoying camping adventures and long drives.

David will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
