Daryl Len LongRey, age 59, passed away on March 7, 2026. Daryl was known for his quiet nature, kind heart, and the joy he found in the simple things he loved.
Daryl had a lifelong love for science fiction and could often be found watching Star Wars, Star Trek, or enjoying episodes of The Big Bang Theory. He enjoyed working puzzles and building Lego sets, hobbies that reflected his thoughtful and patient personality. Though naturally introverted, Daryl truly cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
One of the proudest moments of his life was becoming a father to his son, Andrew. He also took great pride in serving his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
Due to illness, Daryl spent the last eleven years of his life at Standifer Place in Chattanooga. During that time, he built meaningful connections with those around him. He especially enjoyed watching and talking football with Dale and Barry, and he always looked forward to the visits and meals brought by his sister Maria, particularly anything with bacon. Daryl also enjoyed joking, talking, and keeping the nurses on their toes with his sense of humor and playful personality.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Raygor; his father, Roy LongRey; his uncle, Barry Jackson, who was like a father to him; as well as his Uncle Ray and Aunt Pat.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Andrew LongRey; his sister, Maria Foreman (Dale); his brothers, Eric Raygor and Jerry Raygor (Jennifer); five cousins; and one aunt, Judy.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home - Cleveland Chapel. A service will be held with Brother Guinn Green officiating starting at 6:00pm.
Daryl will be remembered for his quiet spirit, his love for his family, and the laughter he shared with those who knew him.
