Danny Howard Rice, 74, of Cleveland, TN, passed away September 10, 2022. Born and raised in Tellico Plains and an active member of North Cleveland Baptist Church. Danny served 2 years with the Army in Vietnam and retired from Bowater after 40 years of dedicated service. Danny served on the Board of Directors of BECU for 25 years. He was a star football player at Tellico Plains High School from 1962-1966. He enjoyed watching football, hunting, fishing, and traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family & friends.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Isabelle Rice.
Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Violet Rice; daughter, Amber D. Rice; sister, Rosemary Houser (Paul); grandson, Dylan Psyhos; great-granddaughter, Penelope Psyhos; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, 4:00 PM, Companion Funeral Home with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM, prior to the service.
Mr. Rice will be laid to rest on Friday, September 16, 2022, 10:30 -Gate Time, Chattanooga National Cemetery with pallbearers Jr. Tucker, David & Wesley Triplett, Joey Moore, Terry Brackett, and Mike Brown.
