Danny Scott Buckner, 78, mostly known for the McMinn County area, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 8, 2026, at Turkey Creek Medical Center. He was born on March 4, 1948, a son to the late Desota and Francis Buckner. Danny was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed time spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Faye Buckner and one daughter, Dena Buckner Knox.

Danny leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Angie Buckner; two cherished granddaughters and five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Carolyn Williams, Brenda Smith, and Randy Whitener, and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A graveside service is planned for Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery (1414 Athens Rd., Calhoun, TN 37309) with Reverend Richard Mason officiating.
