Danny Tinsley, 85, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a brief but brave battle with cancer.
Born in Cleveland on January 16, 1940, Danny was the son of the late Junior Fox Tinsley and Jessie Schabelle Tinsley. He was of the Baptist faith and proudly served his community as a truck driver for American Uniform for many years.
Danny lived a full and passionate life. He found joy in attending car shows with his beloved 1948 Dodge, working in his yard, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. Above all, he cherished his family deeply and held the beloved title of "Papaw" with immense pride. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness and strong spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Hoyt and Paul Tinsley; sisters, Pauline (Polly) Adams and Betty Tinsley; brothers-in-law, Max Adams, David Ware, and Edward Lea; and sister-in-law, Vera Tinsley.
Danny is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Brenda Tinsley; his children, Danielle Mayo, Dustin Tinsley, Lynn Tinsley, Todd Tinsley, and Kay Tinsley; his cherished grandchildren, Jade Mayo, Cambree Mayo, Hunter Tinsley, Hayden Tinsley, Brianna Tinsley, Blake Tinsley, and Wesley Tinsley: as well as his great-grandson, Wiley Tinsley. He is also survived by his sisters, Glenda Lea and Sadie Ware, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the hospice care team at Adoration, with special appreciation for Kirby and LaWanda, for their compassionate care and support.
Danny's love, work ethic, and deep devotion to his family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He'll be missed more than words can say and remembered with love always.
