Daniel Ralph Gaughan, 62, passed away at home in Knoxville, Tennessee in the presence of family and his beloved dogs. His passing occurred early in the morning of June 10, 2026 due to complications of ALS.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Bridgette; his devoted daughter, Madison; his sisters, Theresa and Kathy; his nieces and nephew, Megan, Matthew, Samantha, and Victoria; and eight grandnieces and grandnephews. He also leaves behind many friends and colleagues who will deeply miss his kindness, wisdom, and mentorship.
A Veteran of the US Navy, Daniel served honorably as a Hospital Corpsman before transitioning to civilian life as a Surgical Tech for twenty years. Later, he began a successful career in Medical Device Sales. He was proud to be a Regional Vice-President for Irrisept for the past eight years.
Daniel was a lover of all types of music. He enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. He often shared his passion for cooking and different cuisines with loved ones. An avid movie-goer, he could frequently be found enjoying the newest releases, either by himself or with anyone he thought might want to see them. His quick wit and dry sense of humor brought joy to those around him.
A loving husband and father, adored older brother, beloved uncle, and caring friend, Daniel left his mark on everyone in his life. ALS stole him from family and friends way too soon. He will always live in their hearts.
To honor his memory, show kindness and grace to everyone, keep family and friends close, and make the time to do what you love while you can. Daniel requested friends and colleagues raise a glass in his name. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the ALS Association in his name.
You are encouraged to share a memory of Daniel and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral & Cremation Service of Oak Ridge, TN, is honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
