Dakota Elijah Davis, age 30, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Dakota was a kind-hearted and generous soul who never met a stranger. Known for his warm personality and quick sense of humor, he had a remarkable ability to make those around him feel welcome. He enjoyed collecting knives, a hobby that brought him great interest over the years. Above all else, Dakota's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was his son, Caden, whom he loved with all his heart.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Wilma Jean Nunley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved son and best friend, Caden Davis; his mother, Betty Davis; his father, John D. Davis Jr. (Sarabeth); his sister, Brittany Davis; his paternal grandfather, J. David Davis Sr. (Velma); his paternal grandmother, Sandra Davis; his girlfriend, Taylor Williams; his best friend, Hany Elfeky, whom he considered a brother; as well as many other cherished family members and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on what would have been Dakota's 31st birthday, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home of Athens.
