Cynthia Ann Andreson, 77, of Scarborough,ME, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was born on August 27, 1948 in Worcester, MA to Raymond and Virginia Osborn. She grew up in Worcester and graduated from Classical High School in 1966. She went on to study nursing at The Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1969. After finishing nursing school she married the love of her life, Charles Andreson, also from Worcester, MA. Together with their 3 children, they moved to Scarborough, Maine in 1975 where they built a beautiful life.
Cindy was known for her joy, her contagious laughter that spread through a room, her deep and abiding Christian faith, and the way she looked to serve and be a blessing to others. She worked as a R.N. for 41 years and was especially proud of the relationships that she formed with her coworkers, and the way that she brought comfort and care to her patients and their families during some of their most challenging times.
She loved the outdoors, gardening, quilting, hiking in the mountains, the beach, especially Ferry Beach in Scarborough, Maine, and spending time by the ocean. She found joy in making memories with family, playing with her grandchildren and making people smile. She was an active member of St. Maximilian Kolbe for many years where she sang in the choir, taught RCIA, taught Bible studies, served as a lector, and was on the planning team for the Magnificat Women’s ministry. She will be remembered for her love of life, incredible spirit, and having “just a cup” of icecream, as well as her habit of bursting into song any time a sentence held part of the lyrics to a well known tune.
Cindy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charlie Andreson, her children Chrissy Geren and her husband Brad of Cleveland, TN, Charlie Anderson, Jr. and his wife Mandy of Freeport, Maine, and Jen Freitas and her husband Jayme of Cleveland, TN, her siblings Patty Osborn, Stephen (Nancy) Osborn, Janice (Alton) Fleming, her grandchildren Nicholas and Addie Geren, Maya and Eli Andreson, and Taryn and Trevor Freitas, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Virginia Osborn, and her younger brother Peter Osborn.
A funeral mass will be scheduled for early summer, to be held in Scarborough, ME. Details will be shared at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
