Curtis E Rowell

Curtis Rowell, 87, came face-to-face with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 8, 2026, as he passed from this life to the one that will be forever.

Born in Georgia, reared in Alabama, he called Chattanooga home since 1969. He and his beloved wife of 65 years, Linda, faithfully served the Lord in many capacities. His was a life marked by quiet service to others, and care for widows was a recurring ministry in all his stations of life. He will be remembered by many Chattanooga State students as a professor who genuinely desired the best for each of them.

He was preceded in death by his father Curtis, his mother Martha, and sister Patricia. He is survived by a family who will miss him dearly but know with confidence they will see him again: Wife Linda, children Curtis (Tracy), Andrea, Jonathan (Dawn), and David (Caroline), ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Harold, sister Barbara, niece Rabia, and numerous in-laws that loved him as their own.

A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2pm Eastern at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 7634 Gann Rd, Hixson, TN.
