Claude Daniel Falls

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Claude "Dan" Falls, who peacefully entered the arms of his Savior on July 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Dan was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He lived a life marked by unwavering faith, quiet strength, integrity, and selfless service. His humble spirit, generous heart, and steadfast character left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.

A proud patriot, Dan dedicated 34 years to serving his country. He served 14 years on active duty in the United States Air Force before continuing his military career with 20 years in the Army National Guard. While serving in the National Guard, he also faithfully worked for the United States Postal Service from 1979 until his retirement in 2004. Whether wearing his country's uniform or delivering mail throughout his community, Dan approached every responsibility with honor, dedication, and an unmatched work ethic.

His commitment to serving others extended beyond his military and civilian careers. Dan was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners, organizations that reflected his lifelong dedication to fellowship, compassion, and helping those in need.

A man of deep faith, Dan found joy in the simple blessings of God's creation. He loved bird hunting, bird watching, fly fishing, and traveling to new places, embracing each adventure with gratitude and appreciation. He was also a lifelong and devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan. Cheering on the Vols was one of his greatest passions, and he proudly wore his orange through every season.

Above all else, Dan cherished his family. He was the steady foundation they could always depend upon-the first to lend a helping hand, offer wise counsel, or share a warm smile. Through both his words and his actions, he taught the values of kindness, honesty, hard work, and treating others with respect. His greatest legacy is not found in titles or accomplishments, but in the lives he shaped, the love he gave so freely, and the example he set for those who knew him.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy Falls; his children, Cindy (Jeff), Carla (Craig), and Caryn (Butch); and his stepchildren, Kim (Paul) and Dawn.

He was the proud grandfather of Christopher, Daulton (Aprile), Hayley (Maddy), Conner (Tiana), Hope, and Danielle (Tommy); loving step-grandfather of Matthew (Abby), Tyler (Mindy), Tanner, Madisyn, and Carson; and cherished great-grandfather of Walker.

He is also survived by his sister, Mary Kate, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Though our hearts are broken and life will never be the same without him, we find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him and now rests in the eternal peace of Heaven. His faith, wisdom, compassion, and unwavering love will continue to guide and inspire those he leaves behind.

One of Dan's guiding principles was simple: "Always do what is right." Those words were far more than advice-they were the standard by which he lived every day.

As we remember and celebrate his remarkable life, we take comfort in the words of Scripture:

"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the Shelli Cody Memorial Sanctuary of Companion Funeral Home located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN. The visitation time will conclude at 4:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service lead by the Reverend Jay McCluskey and the Reverend Chris Rouse.

The interment with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 10:30 AM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tennessee State Veterans' Home (TSVH) (Cleveland) in loving memory of Dan.
