Christoper W. Wilson, 56, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on September 29th, 2026.
Chris was born on December 13th in Knoxville, TN to Benny D. Shockley and Sandra S. Wilson. He was a graduate of Bearden High School and furthered his education at Tennessee Institute of Electronics and Pellissippi State Community College, where he earned his associate degree. Chris went on to build a career in landscaping, irrigation and lawn service by owning and running his own full-service business. He was dedicated to his craft and business.
Chris was a true, avid outdoorsman who found his greatest joy working with his hands and playing in the dirt. Whether he was tearing up the mud on the back of a four-wheeler, cruising the roads in his truck, or spending hours under the hood of a vehicle in the garage, he was always in his element. Above all, Chris loved his family and friends fiercely. He was the kind of person who was always there to help anyone in need, truly willing to give the shirt off his back to a friend or stranger alike.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of kindness, a warmth that extended not only to the people he touched, but to every four-legged companion he met, especially his beloved dog, Savannah. He will be deeply missed by so many whose lives he enriched. In his honor, we remember his favorite parting words, and we don't say goodbye, but rather, as he always said: "See Yee."
Chris is survived by his wife of 30+ years Kim Wilson, stepson Zachary Phillips, grandchildren Harley Napier, Thaddeus and Mason Wilson, brother, Devin Shockley and sister, Elizabeth (Brad) Minor as well as a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benny D Shockey and Sandra S. Wilson, and son Corey W Wilson.
At Chris's request a formal service will not be held.
You are encouraged to share a memory of Chris and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral & Cremation Service of Oak Ridge, TN, is honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
