Christopher Anthony Steffa, age 55, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 27, 2026.

Chris was born in Bristol, Virginia, on August 27, 1971. He was a simple man who enjoyed the comforts of home and was truly a homebody. Chris worked in the construction industry as a painter and took pride in his work.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his dear daughter, Kayla Steffa; his parents, Doris and Buddy Prater and Nicholas Carrier Steffa Sr. and Nancy Steffa; his siblings, Nicholas Carrier Steffa Jr., Scott Steffa (Jamie), Rodney Steffa, and Megan Steffa; and his nieces and nephews, Nick III, Mayleigh, Carleigh, Tisha, Jacob, David, Lonnah, and Ayden. He is also survived by his former wife, Rhonda Bookout, whom he continued to love and care for deeply, along with many other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Companion Funeral Home in Athens, Tennessee. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 5:00 p.m.
