Cheryl McClary

Cheryl Kay McClary, 69, of Delano, TN, passed away on September 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was of the Baptist faith and dedicated much of her life to teaching as a special education teacher at Polk County High School and Calhoun Elementary. After retirement, Cheryl found joy in the simple beauty of life, whether watching wildlife-especially bald eagles-or soaking in the natural wonders of the area she called home. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren, and she delighted in supporting them in all their endeavors.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Julia Barnett.

Cheryl leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Morris McClary; son Mason McClary; daughter Rachel Brewer and son-in-law Rusty; siblings Lee Barnett and wife Betty, Bettye Diatikar, and Peggy Curram and husband Bernie; grandchildren Callie, Cade, Camden, and Case Brewer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation in her honor.

A graveside memorial service will be held on October 11, 2025, at Benton Memorial Gardens.
