Charles Windburn Williams

Charles Windburn Williams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed from this world on September 13th, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Teresa (Terri) Williams, and parents, Thomas Harold (Pete) Williams, Clarice June Owens and an infant son.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Valerie Williams Craig and Stacie Williams, grandchildren, Eli and Ember Craig, step mother, Mary Williams, brothers, Michael, Mark and Mitchell Williams, their wives and children, sister, Joymichelle Greene her husband and children, sister-in-law Cynthia Lauren Rogers, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Charles, affectionately known as Charlie or Windy, loved spending time with Terri, his late wife and best friend of 45 years, his girls and grandchildren. He loved being outdoors, family camping vacations to Cumberland Island, Ga, fishing, boating, (where his favorite past time was slinging unsuspecting passengers across the lake on a inner-tube), riding motorcycles with the love of his life and cowboy action shooting. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and loved his church family.

Charlie was the consummate prankster and story teller, with the ability to reel anyone in with a tale or anecdote, only to leave them laughing.

He had a passion for history, a keen understanding of mechanics in multiple disciplines and building anything that could withstand a Cat 5 hurricane.

Charlie retired from Norfolk Southern Railway where he was a laborer/fireman/oiler for over 30 years and spent retirement adventuring with Terri until her passing in 2017.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to The Caring Place in Cleveland, TN.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026 at First Lutheran Church, Cleveland, TN between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm with a memorial service following at 1:00. The service will be conducted by Pastor Robert Seaton with a private family interment to be held at a later time.
