Charles Lester Sinclair, born October 26, 1958, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, surrounded by love and held in the deep care of those closest to him.
Charles lived a life marked by wisdom, strength, and a steadfast devotion to the people he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Leona Olinger Sinclair of Dayton Mountain and wife, Michelle Ross Sinclair.
He is survived by his life partner and the love of his life, Susan Smith, who shared with him countless adventures, deep companionship, and a bond that brought him immeasurable joy.
Charles is also survived by his children: Jeff (Trish) Sinclair of Jeffersonville, IN; Ministers Jarade (Valerie) Sinclair and Jacob (Paige) Sinclair, both of Dayton. He was also blessed with two bonus children whom he loved as his own: Shon (Amy) Smith and Shannon (Heath) Bullock.
His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Sarah Beth Sinclair, Karis Sinclair, Charlie Michelle Sinclair, Jackson "Wade" Sinclair, Jacob Stevlyn Sinclair, Charlie Ragan, Griffin Smith, Taylor Wilson, Jett Smith, Kylie Smith, and Charlie Bullock, each of whom brought light and pride to his life.
He is also survived by his brother and sisters, nieces and nephews.
Charles was a man who loved the open road, especially on his Harley, where he found freedom and peace. He cherished traveling with Susan, building memories together across miles and moments from Hawaii and the Grand Canyon to NYC.
Charles worked faithfully in the wood room at La-Z-Boy for 43 years, dedicating himself to pride in his work. After "retiring," he joyfully stepped into a new season-working alongside his sons at Home Team Dream Builders, where he continued building, teaching, and creating with the hands that had shaped so much throughout his life. He instilled strong work ethic and craftsmanship in his 3 sons, who each consider him their lifelong best friend.
He was also proud of his involvement in the Masonic Lodge, where he found fellowship and purpose.
Above all, Charles was a strong believer in Jesus Christ. His faith guided him, sustained him, and gives his loved ones comfort knowing he is now in the arms of his Savior-whole, at peace, and surrounded by perfect love.
Charles will be remembered for his steady presence, gentle heart, and the way he made life richer for those blessed to know him. His spirit lives on in the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched along his journey.
