Charles N. Leonard

Charles N. “Charlie” Leonard, 91, of Athens, passed away on June 13, 2026 after battling health problems for several years. He was the son of the late James and Annie Leonard.He was also preceded in death by a younger brother,James A. “Willie” Leonard and a sister, Martha Louease Bohannan.

 He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha and a son, Eddie. He was a devoted husband and loving father.He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 

He was an active member of Genesis Baptist Church and attended regularly until health problems intervened. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. A successful area businessman, he owned and operated Charlie’s Auto and Transmission for decades, in addition to Belmont Hills Development, a real estate development company.
