Obituary
Charles Edward Bolt, 80, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Wednesday morning, February 4th, 2015 in a Chattanooga hospital. Charlie was born in Chattanooga, TN on May 7th, 1934 a son of the late Guy & Lillie Bolt. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. Charlie was retired from TVA. He was of the Church of Christ faith. Charlie in his younger days led singing at his father’s church. He organized a fast pitch softball team for Fowler Brother Furniture. All though his life, Charlie has loved to play golf and was a very experienced golfer. He and his wife Faye enjoyed spending time in their Florida home, dancing and shuffling.
Charlie leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Faye Rice Bolt, three brothers Alvin Bolt of Nashville, TN, Paul Bolt of Carlton, TX and Melvin Bolt of Orville, OH, one sister Martha Hillis of Rossville, GA, his mother-in-law Louise Buckner, one step-son Lynn Rice, step grandsons Robby & Jackson Rice, special caregiver Kathy Schuch , longtime golfing friends Joe McDowell and his wife Joan, numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.
A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, February 10th, 2015 at 12:30 PM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. The service will conclude with full military honors to honor Charlie’s service to his country.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the Parkinson’s Association in Charlie’s memory to help fund research.
