Carolyn Glass

June 18, 1936 — June 23, 2025

Carolyn Ann Peck Glass of Etowah, a vibrant spirit of 89, peacefully departed this life on

June 23, 2025, at her grandson's home in Athens, Tennessee. Born on June 18, 1936,

to William F. Peck and Lola Mae Flanagan Peck, Carolyn carried with pride her direct

lineage to Benjamin Franklin. For 54 years, she shared a joyful and devoted marriage

with James (Jim) Edward Glass, who passed away on July 10, 2011.

She is lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Jeff and Pam Glass, and

Scott and Selina Glass, all of Ooltewah. She also leaves behind her cherished

grandsons whom she raised and a spouse, Chris and Tabitha Lowe of Athens, and

Jamie Lowe of Panama City Beach, Florida. Their children, Andrew Glass, Mackenzie

Glass Odell, Trevor Glass, Madison Lowe, Sammy Glass, and Makayla Lowe Richesin,

along with her eight great-grandchildren (and one on the way!), will carry on her legacy

of love. Carolyn is also survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret Peck, and her dear

sisters, Josephine Brown, Margorie Brackett, and Nancy Snider, with whom she shared

an unbreakable bond and many treasured moments. Her nieces held a special place in

her heart.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol June Newman and her siblings

Richard Peck, Thomas Peck, William Peck, and Evelyn Peck.

Carolyn embraced life with enthusiasm, particularly through her love of travel. Family

vacations in her children's younger years were grand affairs, often requiring an entire

hotel floor to accommodate her sisters, their children, and her own. Later, she found

great pleasure in her adventures flying to Vegas and cruising the seas.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses from Caris Healthcare for the

compassionate care and comfort provided to Carolyn during her final months.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date to honor Carolyn's life and fulfill her

wishes.

You are encouraged to share a memory of Carolyn and/or your personal condolences with her family by visiting her memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist her family with these arrangements.
