Carolyn Janette Dunn, 80, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. She was born on January 9, 1944, in Cleveland to the late Roy R. and Imogene Matthews. Carolyn was an avid U.T. Vols fan as well as an avid traveler. Together Carolyn and her Husband Larry visited 63 countries and the entire United States.
Carolyn was a teacher at Hopewell Elementary School for 30 years, where she excelled in the special needs program. She never had any biological children; however, she considered her students as her own children.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Robert Dunn, and Juanita Dunn.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 56 years, Larry W. Dunn; her sisters, Bunny (Jr.) Farmer of Georgetown, TN.; and Sharon (George) Geren of Georgetown, TN; brothers-in-law, Royce (France) Dunn of San Diego, Ca; Retired Chaplain Doyle (Donna) Dunn of Baltimore, MD.; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann (James Randall) Mantooth; of Alpharetta, Ga.; Jan (Scott) Schroll of Cleveland, TN; Along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial Gathering for Carolyn will be Held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Olive branch Event Center located at 109 NW Interstate Drive Cleveland, TN 37312.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Carolyn's memory.
