Ruby “Carolyn” Bridges, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at her home. She was born in Chattanooga on September 11, 1947, to the late Robert and Anna Maude Weaver. She retired after 40 years of service at Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Chattanooga and was very strong in her faith. In her spare time, she loved to travel. She liked to visit anywhere beautiful – from Calloway Gardens to Switzerland and everywhere in between. At home, she enjoyed spending time with her dog, Bella, cooking for others, tending to her garden, and playing games with her family.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Bridges; brother, Robert Weaver; sister, Linda Smith; and cousin, Gayle Daugherty.
She is survived by her children, Julie (Randy) Newsom, Alvin Daugherty, and Brad (Bonnie) Daugherty; grandchildren, Christopher Meyers, Sarah Daugherty, Davey (Cheri) Daugherty, Caroline (George) Ozborn, Anna Daugherty, Travis Meyers, Peyton Daugherty, Nicholas Daugherty, and Gracie Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Felicity Daugherty and Mikah Daugherty; and sister-in-law, Linda Weaver.
