Carolyn Ann Ellis Judkins McNally, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on November 28, 2025 at the age of 82. She was born on July 25, 1943, to the late O. Fred and Ann Allen Ellis. She enjoyed spending time with her fur babies and family, she also liked knitting, word puzzles, card games, music, feeding and watching birds and wildlife in her yard and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wally McNally, sisters, Marilee and Sara; and brothers, Frank and O. Fred Ellis, Jr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Judy (James Carroll) Rogers, Vicki (Randy) Bishop, and Anthony Judkins; grandchildren, Jimmy (Chelsea) Rogers, Robert Rogers, and Faith Renee Kennedy; siblings, Dan Ellis and Jack Ellis; Great grandsons James and Chris, stepchildren Michael and Lisa, and a host of extended family members and beloved friends.
Carolyn never met a stranger. She would give you the sweater off her back (she did that once). She would give you anything she had if she thought you needed it, and she would buy you things she thought you needed. Carolyn was the team mom, PTA mom, school “nurse”, church youth leader, a helper anywhere she was.
She loved the color red. Every small appliance in her kitchen was red. Her purse always was red or had red in it. ½ of her wardrobe was red. She once had a red toilet! If you knew her you knew.
She worked a variety of jobs in her life including retiring from Kroger of Dalton as a night cashier. She was very independent after divorce and being widowed. She purchased 2 homes on her own and lived independently until the end.
Instead of flowers, please send a donation to an animal shelter near you. A Paw and a Prayer and Trouper’s Treasures are in Chattanooga and wonderful folks.
