Carmen Elsie Torres

Carmen Elsie Rivera, 80, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, in Cleveland, Tennessee. She was born in Puerto Rico to her parents, Emilia Medina Rivera and Virgilio Rivera.

She was a faithful Christian and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was married for 52 years to her beloved husband, Manuel Torres, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a life filled with faith, family, and love.

She spent most of her life in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she raised her family and cared deeply for those around her. She loved cooking for her family, babysitting, and caring for others. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, and her siblings, Ramon Rivera, Iris M. Rivera, Rosie Rivera, and Junior Rivera.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Ivelise Torres and her son-in-law, Victor Agosto, and her son, Angel Torres and his wife, Carmen Lydia Torres; her beloved grandchildren, Victor Agosto Jr., Matthew Agosto, and Kaylee Torres; her brother, Hector Rivera, his wife, Miriam Rivera, and their children; along with extended family and dear friends.

Her family will forever remember her for her faith, loving heart, generosity, and the many ways she cared for others. The memories she created and the love she gave will remain in their hearts forever.

May she rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord, reunited with her beloved husband and those who went before her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service on Saturday September 26, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastor Torrance Farmer officiating at Hiwassee Memorial Gardens located at 8063 N Lee Hwy, Cleveland, TN 37312.

Fue una fiel cristiana y una amorosa esposa, madre, abuela, hermana y amiga. Estuvo casada durante 52 años con su amado esposo, Manuel Torres, quien le precedió en la muerte. Juntos construyeron una vida llena de fe, familia y amor.

Pasó la mayor parte de su vida en Bridgeport, Connecticut, donde crió a su familia y se preocupó profundamente por quienes la rodeaban. Le encantaba cocinar para su familia, cuidar niños y atender a los demás. Su mayor alegría era estar rodeada de las personas que amaba, especialmente de sus nietos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Manuel, y sus hermanos, Ramón Rivera, Iris M. Rivera, Rosie Rivera y Junior Rivera.

Deja para atesorar su memoria a su hija, Ivelise Torres y su yerno, Víctor Agosto, y su hijo, Ángel Torres y su esposa, Carmen Lydia Torres; sus amados nietos, Víctor y Matthew Agosto y su nieta, Kaylee Torres. También a su hermano, Héctor Rivera, su esposa, Miriam Rivera, y sus hijos; además de una gran familia extendida y queridos amigos.

Su familia la recordará por siempre por su fe, su corazón amoroso, su generosidad y las muchas maneras en que cuidó de los demás. Los recuerdos que creó y el amor que brindó permanecerán en sus corazones para siempre.

Que descanse en paz en los brazos del Señor, reunida con su amado esposo y con quienes partieron antes que ella. Será profundamente extrañada y amada por siempre.
