Carmen Brunilda Santos, who graced this world for 83 years, was a woman whose life spoke long before words were ever written.
Born on Wednesday, March 14, 1943, she carried within her a quiet strength, a grace that did not demand attention but left a lasting imprint on all who encountered her.
Carmen did not simply live her years; she filled them with presence, resilience, and a love that endured through every season.
At just thirteen, she stepped into a world meant for grown hands, carrying responsibilities far heavier than her years.
By thirteen, life had already called her beyond childhood, placing her in the rhythm of work before she had fully lived as a girl.
Though her heart knew loss, it also knew how to continue loving, giving, and standing with unwavering dignity.
But, on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, she suffered a Hemmorahic Stroke.
She bravely battled this condition for 21 years. Sadly, on Wednesday, March 26, 2026, when her fragile body could not fight any longer, the All Sovereign God transitioned her to glory where she will forever reign with Him.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin Santos, her parents, Carmen Gonzalez Cruz Albert, and Eloy Cruz Sr., her brothers Eloy Cruz Jr., and Angel Cruz, and her daughter, Diane Nicole Santos and Grandson "Baby Boy".
Those who will carry her memory in their hearts are her children: Martin Jr., Olga, Mario (Wendy), and Mark (Shereen). Her grandchildren, Ryan (Arika), Lauren (Scott), Nick (Kayla) Marcus, Maddisen, Masen, and Kizzy. Her great-grandchildren Harper, Jovi, Avri. Numerous other family and friends.
Carmen's life was not measured in grand displays, but in the steady, faithful ways she showed up for those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, deep love, and enduring grace; a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her story does not end here. It lives on in memory, in love, and in every life she touched.
Carmen's family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm on Friday April 3rd at the "Ridge" Chapel of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2412 Georgetown Road. The Funeral Service will begin at 9:30am on Saturday April 4th with visitation prior to the service from 9:00am until 9:30am.
