Carmell Lyn Arthur

Carmell Lyn (Chastain) Arthur, 63, of Birchwood, TN, passed away on June 2, 2025. Born August 5, 1961 in Chattanooga, TN, to Wilma Jo Chastain and Ben C. Chastain, she was affectionately known as Lyn to friends and family.

Lyn spent her early adulthood as a beautician, both in salons and at home. She went on to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, before becoming a stay at home wife. Mostly, she enjoyed her quiet, introverted time there with her husband and pets. She was a lifelong animal lover and rescuer, known for her intense love of dogs -particularly pugs. She stood out with her sarcastic humor and feisty attitude, and hid her artistic talents. She loved her family, and left lasting impressions on everyone she met.

Carmell Lyn Arthur is preceded in death by her father, Ben C. Chastain and her sister, Donna Gail (Chastain) Nelson, as well as her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Danny Arthur; her mother, Wilma Jo Chastain; her brother, Robert Travis Nicholas with his wife Kendra, as well as several nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.

She will be honored with a Receiving of Friends visitation on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place Monday, June 9, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Companion as well. Pallbearers include George Morgan, Darrel Morgan, Greg Morgan, Danny Phillips, Dewayne Phillips, and Dillon Nelson. Immediately following, travel to Hamilton Memorial Park will conclude with a graveside service. In leu of flowers, we encourage donations to be made in Lyn's honor to your local/favorite animal shelter.
