Calvin A. "Bear" Brock

Calvin Allen “Bear” Brock, 84, of McDonald, TN passed away on February 15, 2018. He was born on August 2, 1933 to the late Ray L. Brock and Ila Bailey Brock. Calvin was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of McDonald Methodist Church where he was very active as a Sunday School Superintendent. He served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany during his time. Calvin enjoyed fishing with his brothers and many of his childhood friends who knew him as “Snowball.” He also enjoyed woodworking and made furniture throughout the years. Calvin was also known for the many lunches he spent eating at Couch’s BBQ. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by two sisters Inez McCarter and Gladys Brock Brown; four brothers: Judge Ray Brock, Paul “Buddy” Brock, Edwin Brock, and Charles W. “Bill” Brock.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 65 years Barbara Benton Brock; sister Charlotte Albritton (Don); and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday February 18, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Companion Funeral and Cremation Service located at 2415 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home on Monday February 19, 2018. Interment will follow the service at Lee Cemetery.
