Burl Lee Herron, age 78, a lifelong resident of Georgetown, TN, passed away on Wednesday morning December 24, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.
Burl was the son of the late Mildred Louise Fornter Herron, and Willie Paul Herron. Burl was the captain of the Highway 58 Fire Department Station 3. Burl owned a dairy farm and his own excavation business for over 30 years. Burl loved his family and grandkids. Burl was a member of Birchwood Church of God of Prophecy.
He was preceded in death by his loving sister Doris Carroll.
Survivers include his loving wife of 56 years, Stella Herron; son, Kendall Herron and his wife Chandra Herron; grandchildren, Kayla Herron, MaKinley Herron, and Tucker Herron; along with special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice for everything they have done for Burl, and their family. His special nurses from Gentiva Hospice that he had gotten so close to, Burl's niece Charlene Wells for helping, and Burl's cousin Veda Waddell for all of the help they provided.
A visitation will be held on Friday January 2, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2412 Georgetown Rd. Cleveland, TN 37311. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday January 4, 2025 at 12:00 pm with Kevin Martin and Kenneth Nope officaiting. Burl will be laid to rest at McInturff Cemetery.
