Brian D. "Poppy" Owens, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday June 3, 2026 at the age of 52. Brian was born on March 28, 1974 in Cleveland, Tennessee to Larry Jack and Mary Ann Owens.
Brian loved life. He enjoyed traveling, adventures, fishing, hunting, and trying different food throughout the states. He had a passion for collecting guns, going to gun stores, and attending gun shows. Most of all, he loved his family immensely. Brian worked tirelessly both at his job and at home, always striving to provide everything his family needed and wanted. His love, dedication, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace in the presence of the Lord, hearing "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Amanda; children, Corina (Timothy) Shahan and Robby (Rechel) Walker; his granddaughter / daughter, Nahayla Jae, grandchildren, Aierie Kaelix, Connor Ryan, and Robert Legend; parents, Larry Jack and Mary Ann Owens; his brother, Michael (Melissa) Owens; father and mother in law, Edward E. and Patricia D. Stevens; brother in law Anthony Ray Stevens; his sisters in law, Teresa (Mike) Thomas and Misty (Jesse) Rogers; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
To honor Brian's unwavering love and devotion for his family, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you spend meaningful time with your family. Let them know how much they are loved and appreciated, remembering that tomorrow is never promised.
Our family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to all his colleagues at M&M Mars for their enduring friendship, support, prayers, visits, and sympathy. Brian enjoyed a dedicated 29 1/2 year career at M&M Mars. He truly considered his coworkers as a second family and cherished the daily camaraderie. Brian was known for his work ethic and leadership, he leaves behind not just respected colleagues, but a loyal work family who brought him immense joy. I just want to say thank you on his behalf.
Our family wishes to express out deepest gratitude to all the first responders and hospital staff as well for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Brian's final days. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
