Bobby Gene Hayes

Bobby Gene Hayes, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026.

Bobby was a loving husband, proud veteran, and a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was married to his beloved wife, Marlies Hayes, for 58 wonderful years. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, memories, and companionship.

Bobby retired from Brown Stove Works after many years of dedicated work. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.

In his free time, Bobby enjoyed fishing, traveling, working in his yard, and watching western movies. He found joy in spending time outdoors and appreciating the things he loved. He will also be remembered by his family and friends for the kindness, friendship, and memories he shared throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lake and Vennie Lou Hayes; daughter, Ramona Bowman Hayes; grandson, Elvis Bowman; and sister, Yvonne Trotter.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Marlies Hayes; grandson, Derrick Bowman; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many wonderful friends and neighbors who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Companion Funeral and Cremation Service located at 2415 Georgetown Rd. NW Cleveland, TN 37311. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m with Gregory Collins officiating.

Following the service, Bobby will be laid to rest at Fort Hill Cemetery.

Bobby will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
