Billie Sue Thompson, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away July 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Billie was born December 22, 1942, to the union of Claire Lucille Burnett and John Wilson Hood, in Lil' Sequatchie, TN.
She lived a life filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. Those who fondly remember her will never forget her tender spirit and laughter, for it lit up any room.
She was a wonderful role model to many, and a very cherished friend, to not only people, but animals. Particularly, her beloved cat, Gidget, who made her smile every day.
Billie was well known as a lifelong fan of both Elvis Presley and the Atlanta Braves, for she shared her passions with those she held dear. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and the effects of her kindness will continue to be felt by all who knew her, long after her passing.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Claire Burnett and John Hood, and her sister, Clydia Van Wagner. Husband, Billy Thompson, and two sons, David Carson and Douglas Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Earley, and son-in-law, Jason Earley. Her two granddaughters, Madeline Webb and Heather Plott, and their spouses, Tara Webb and Jesse Plott, and her great-grandchildren, Aiden Plott and Arilyn Plott. As well as her beloved sister, Rowena Alice Keef, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Billie will be cremated, and a memorial is to be held at a later date in honor of her legacy.
