Billie Ruth Stone

Billie "Ruth" Stone, born on February 18, 1936, in Pisgah, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughters, Michelle Stone and Brenda Tinsley; her son, Douglas "Michael" Patty; and her grandchildren, including Danielle Porter (Trever), Sierra Stone, Chase Stone, Danielle Mayo, Dustin Tinsley (Adrianna), and Michael Patty. Ruth also cherished her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Kyla, Cambree, Jade, Hunter (Jenna), Hayden, Brianna, Isabella, Maxine, and Gabrielle.

Ruth was a hard-working waitress in the food services industry and Known for her sense of humor. Ruth often entertained her family and friends with her playful jokes and sarcastic wit. She loved to gather around the television to watch basketball and football, cheering passionately for her favorite teams. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed playing cards, where the competition was always fierce yet fun.

A compassionate and giving spirit, Ruth touched the lives of many with her warmth. Her memorable moments were filled with laughter, love, and the joy of family gatherings. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service "Ridge Sanctuary" on August 30, 2026, from 3:00 -5:00 PM. Following this, Ruth will be cremated, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her father James Whisenant, her mother Laney Newberry, her sisters: Juanita, Mary, Sara, and Elizabeth. Son in law Danny Tinsley and her grandson Zachary Aki.
