Betty Smith Clayton

Betty Smith Clayton, 76, of Coker Creek, TN passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at a Cleveland health care facility. She was born September 11, 1939 to the late Andrew and Ruby (Hutto) Smith in Kite, GA. She married George Clayton in February 2, 1957 in Washington, DC. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN in Chattanooga. She was an active church member of Highland Park Baptist Church from 1969-1978. She moved to Coker Creek, TN in 1992. She divorced in 2000. She was a member of Coker Creek Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory, her brother Jerry Smith; sister Mary Lee Shook; two daughters, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service Saturday at Coker Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
