Betty Lou Rubin, 91, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on June 13, 2025. She was born on March 24, 1934 to the late Earnel and Willie Montgomery.
Betty worked as a bank teller for many years at Cleveland National Bank and worked in the management of the jewelry department of JC Penny in Atlanta and Chattanooga. She and her husband, Sid, also owned and operated Wood Jewelers and "The Bird Cage" for many years in downtown Cleveland. She was a graduate of Bradley High School class of 1952 and attended Cleveland State Community College. Betty also volunteered her time at the museum and was a Past President of the Pilot Club. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sid Rubin and brother Carl Montgomery.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Bernie Rubin (Dawn); sister Ethel Helms; grandchildren: Sydney Flerl (Scott), Ethan Domaingue, and Chloe Efferson (Ray); great-grandchildren: Charlotte Flerl, Sadie Flerl, and Archie Efferson. She also leaves behind nephews: Carl Montgomery, Steve Montgomery, and Mike Montgomery.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 2pm on Saturday June 21st at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW. Her family will receive friends from 1pm until the service at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at PO Box 694 Cleveland, TN 37364.
