It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Betty Jo Calhoun Richesin. She was a devoted wife, a beloved mother, grandmother, a cherished friend, and a devoted follower of the Baptist Faith. The passion she had for her family was unmatched. Playing her piano was one of her many talents and passion as well.
Our mom had a nurturing spirit. She was beautiful, strong, courageous, kind, loyal. Her laughter, wisdom, advice and love are woven into our lives forever. We want to thank you mom. We know heaven lit up October 28th 2025. You were the most loving mom to ever walk this Earth. You gave all to your family and friends. We will never be able to fill the space left behind. You were the heart of this family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Douglas Richesin whom she would often say "no one could ever fill his shoes". Her parents Jess and Ethel Calhoun; Her sisters Martina Malone, Jessie Plemons. Her son in law Phillip Poore.
She is survived by her four girls Jennifer Wells (Rodney), Marcia Poore, Dawn Bright (Keith), Bridgett Officer (Aaron); Her Grandchildren Ashley, Mitchell (Maggie), Sarah (Ahmed) Ryan, Hannah, Noah and Grayson; Her great grand Hunter (Abby), Jaclyn, Marley, Daphne, Evie, Ameera, and Raiyah; Her great great Emma, Beau, and Devin; Her sister-in-law Marlene Davis; Her brother-in-law Wayne Richesin (Linda). A host of nieces and nephews who she loved like her own, along with many special friends.
We would like to thank all of her doctors and staff especially Farrukh, Hutcheson, Lang, and Wiisanen. Special thanks to Loudon County Hospital's Emergency Rooms entire staff and the EMT's. We would also like to say a special thank you to Companion Funeral Home for their compassion and consideration during this time.
"Mother,
You left us beautiful memories. Your love is still our guide although we can not see you, you are always at our side.
Love, Your Girls"
