Betty Jean Mercer

Betty Jean Mercer, 91, entered into her eternal home on May 14, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 15, 1934.

She was the oldest of 8 children, and preceded in deaths by husband, Terry Mercer, and their daughter, Brenda Bishop.

Betty was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of Thompson Springs Baptist Church. Betty loved quilting, embroidering, and gardening. She had wonderful memories of growing up in Gatlinburg, where she lived with her Mother, Father, and siblings.

Betty had several nieces and nephews, along with several great- nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Mack Shelton Parlor with Reverend Guinn Green officiating. the family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Shed Cemetery with Steve Watson, Allen Massengill, David Rymer, Jeffrey Rymer, Danny Rymer, and Slim Lewis serving as pallbearers. Justin Stephens will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
