Betty Irwin

Betty Irwin, 88, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Athens, TN, surrounded by her family.

Betty is survived by her children and their spouses-Julie and Garry Burch of Valparaiso, IN; Lori and Scott Sandberg of Sweetwater, TN; Jeri and Jeff Holweger of Panama City Beach, FL; Deni and Gaynelle Albrecht of Hixson, TN. Step-children and spouses- Missy and Curt Vincent of Sweetwater, TN; Jason and Ashley Irwin of Sweetwater, TN.

Grandchildren and their spouses-Adam and Daria Burch, Ryan and Abby Burch, Corey and Becca Sandberg, Dallas and Olivia Sandberg, Heather Holweger-Garcia, Rachel and Dale Warren, Catherine and Garrett Cook, and a 2 step-grandchildren and their spouses; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by Robert Jack Irwin-spouse, Thomas and Ethel Jones-parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.

She was a born again Christian and a member of Grace Bible Church of Dayton, TN. She loved helping others and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid square dancer with her late husband, Jack Irwin. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens, and baking and gifting to others.

She was an employee at Rhea County Medical Center in Dayton, TN for 30 years. She worked as a CNA and in her last years was Director of Central Supply.
